What if the condition of your heart matters more to God than your religious practice?

In Part 17 of Walking With Jesus, we continue our journey through the Sermon on the Mount with a flyover of the whole message — and then zoom in on one challenging passage: Matthew 5:21–26.

Jesus takes Matthew 5:22 "But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment" — and moves it from behavior to heart. He's not lowering the bar. He's going deeper. He's after the anger, contempt, and unresolved conflict that live beneath the surface.

And then He says something striking: before you bring your offering to God, go be reconciled to your brother or sister first.

In Matthew 5, if someone has something against you — GO. In Matthew 18, if you have something against someone — GO. No matter who is in the wrong, Kingdom people go first. Why? Because God went first. While we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). God didn't wait for us to clean up. He stepped down out of heaven, took on flesh, and came to where we are.

That's the Kingdom. That's what Kingdom people look like.

Listen up.
